Sunvair Aerospace Group Welcomes Ryan Perkins as General Manager of Cargo, Thermal Spray, Avionics, and Accessories Division

Owasso, OK – June 23, 2025 – Sunvair Aerospace Group is proud to announce the appointment of Ryan Perkins as General Manager of the Cargo, Thermal Spray, Avionics, and Accessories Division. With over 26 years of aviation experience across military, commercial, and defense sectors, Ryan brings extensive expertise in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul, along with a strong record of operational leadership.

Ryan’s career began in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the CH-53E heavy-lift helicopter community. Following his military service, he transitioned into the commercial aviation industry, where he held key roles managing complex maintenance programs and leading technical operations for medium and heavy-lift rotorcraft.

At Erickson Incorporated, Ryan served as Director of MRO Programs, where he launched and led the H-53 refurbishment and reset division—overseeing full program execution from concept to delivery. His leadership helped establish a new core business capability within the organization, positioning Erickson as a trusted provider of complex aircraft reset and modification services.

His MRO leadership extended internationally, including assignments as a Commercial Service Representative and Maintenance Supervisor embedded with the Australian Defence Force, and as a Maintenance and Technical Advisor to the Royal Moroccan Air Force, in partnership with the U.S. Army. These roles highlight his ability to manage global sustainment programs in challenging environments.

While Ryan has held senior business development roles—including positions at Breeze-Eastern and Erickson Incorporated—his career has been defined by a strong focus on operational excellence, program execution, and the strategic growth of maintenance and sustainment capabilities. His leadership in complex MRO environments has consistently driven innovation, reliability, and long-term value for both commercial and defense aviation sectors. Ryan holds an MBA from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern Oregon University.

As CCO, Joe will be responsible for driving strategic growth initiatives, expanding market reach, and enhancing customer relationships. His leadership will support Sunvair Aerospace Group’s mission to deliver world-class MRO solutions with exceptional service.

Joe brings more than 25 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business development within the aerospace MRO sector. He has held senior leadership positions at leading industry companies, including AAR, Triumph, and Nordam. Throughout his career, he has built a strong track record of delivering results, developing high-performing teams, and strengthening customer partnerships. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas.

With over 20 years of experience in strategic and operational finance, Fenton brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the organization.

David holds an MBA in Finance from St. Ambrose University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa. His career spans multiple industries, including aerospace, manufacturing, and private equity, where he has consistently driven operational efficiencies and enhanced organizational performance.

Most recently, Fenton served as CFO at Elliott Aviation, a leading provider of complex aviation products and services. During his tenure, he successfully managed financial operations across multiple facilities and played a pivotal role in several mergers and acquisitions, significantly contributing to the company’s growth trajectory.

Bob Dann Returns to Sunvair as Sr VP and General Manager

Sunvair Inc., a leader in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, is pleased to announce the return of Bob Dann as General Manager. With an impressive career spanning over two decades in the aerospace and manufacturing sectors, Bob’s return marks a significant milestone for the company.

Bob brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as COO of Sunvair Landing Gear from 2000 to 2014 under private ownership, and as President from 2014 to 2016, during the company's transition to private equity. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the successful transition of the company to new ownership under a private equity firm. Bob's leadership was pivotal in overseeing the selection, contract negotiations, and modifications for Sunvair’s new facility, including the establishment of a state-of-the-art Plating Shop.

Most recently, Bob served as General Manager at Fortner Engineering & Manufacturing in Burbank, California, where he has been a driving force in operations for the past five years. Prior to that, he was Vice President at AMROC, Inc., and President at AH Metal Finishing, LLC, further showcasing his extensive expertise in the industry.
